WELCOME!!
Howdy, fellow goblins! Here in Green River, Utah, we are gearing up for our FOURTH (#4!) annual goblin gauntlet. We hope you will join us for another fun run in the mystical San Rafael country and the fantasy world at Goblin Valley State Park in Southeastern Utah. We will again be hosting 50k, 25k, and 10k races.
The 2009 Goblin Valley Ultra Marathon will kick off with a registration dinner to be held in our new Senior Center on Friday, October 23rd. Welcome bags containing your t-shirt and registration bibs will be handed out, and your questions about the race will be answered. Directions to the Senior Center and details about the dinner are given at our “NEW FOR THIS YEAR” menu tab.
The race begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning at the Goblin Valley State Park pavilion. You will need to allow at least one hour to reach the park and parking will be limited. Check out the “GOODIES” menu tab for special rates and discounts for race participants. For other accommodations, please visit the Green
River Chamber of Commerce website.
Those guantleteers who are unable to attend the registration dinner on Friday will have to pick up their packets between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning before the race. Please get your packets prior to 7:30 a.m. because all of our volunteers will be busy with the start of the race after that time, and you will miss the start line up.
THANK YOU!!
We extend our appreciation to the many, many volunteers, sponsors, and city and county agencies who make this event possible. We especially want to thank the more than 100 runners who have participated, some of you for every year, and have successfully made this race an annual event. This year’s “HOOAH!” goes to Sheriff Lamar Guymon who almost single-handedly “shot down” the bad guys at High Noon, calmed down the Race Director at a critical moment, and kept the show on the road last year. That’s a lot of metaphors, but he will know what I mean!
